Best Practices of the Department:
Bridge Course for students without Mathematics in higher-secondary level.
Objective:
Mathematics being a compulsory subject for the students in F.Y.B.Com it becomes difficult for students without adequate mathematical background at higher- secondary level. To overcome this difficulty and to develop mathematical skill and Competency, Bridge Course in the subject has been introduced.
Need Addressed:
The students who do not have mathematical background get immense help through Bridge Course in Mathematics. After attending the Bridge Course in Mathematics, not only do they develop a liking for the subject but also develop substantial skills in Mathematics.
The Practice:
The Bridge Course begins with Vedic Mathematics which helps students to calculate complicated addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quite easily. This helps in the process of developing interest among the students for Mathematics. In the second stage, students are exposed to the syllabus which becomes easier for them through Vedic Mathematics. It helps to develop an insight in solving mathematical problems.
Evidence of Success:
The success of the Bridge Course is evident in the result of the students. After introduction of this Course there is substantial improvement in the students’ performance in the examination.
Resources:
The college Library is well equipped with necessary books required for conducting the Course and the college management is quite helpful in providing necessary infrastructural facility.
